Kristin + Robert | Lexington Wedding Photographer

Ask anyone in Lexington what they think about their city….odds are you won’t hear one bad word about it.  It’s southern, sophisticated, charming, yet laid back. There is a little bit of everything in Lex and one of the best parts of the city is the people.  You can literally be in the country one minute riding a horse on a sprawling estate and in less than 10 minutes you can be downtown experiencing the urban life.  You don’t have to tell Kristin and Robert that Lexington, Kentucky is one of the greatest places on earth.  They are both University of Kentucky grads (and HUGE fans)  and embrace every part of this beautiful city and culture.  Their wedding was at Christ the King Cathedral and their reception was at Lexington Country Club.  Their wedding was a little bit of everything…just like Lexington:  southern, sophisticated, charming, yet laid back.  There were so many people dancing and having a blast- the Ford’s really know how to have a party!  Just see for yourself!

Kristin got her b-maids these adorable monogrammed robes.
Ana Crane Simpson with Applied Cosmetics…this woman is magic.  Hands-down the best makeup artist in the world. Yup- in the world!:)When I got engaged she was the 1st vendor I booked!
The b-maids dresses came from Twirl.  Again, another vendor I used.  Ty at Twirl is the best!  Check them out!
How cute is this peanut?!
Kristin had so many girls helping her…good job B-maids!!!
One of my favorite moments on a wedding day is the b-maid clap after the bride is all dressed.  Love the happiness and celebration that they are showing that their friend is getting married!!
Kristin taking one last look in the mirror before going to see Robert. Brides who do first impressions, rock!:)
Robert seeing his bride for the first time
Benefit of having your reception at Lexington Country Club, you can take pics out on the greens AND they provided golf carts for the bride and groom, the photographers, and the videographers. Awesome!
We were really worried about the rain…. there was a short break and I think we were all cheering. We hopped on the golf carts and took advantage of the break on the golf course at Lexington Country Club- and then the rain came again!  We were so grateful for the break in the clouds. Kristin knows who did that for her.
How cute are these little ones?!  Kristin, its time to confess….I stole the idea of the flower crown (I’m sure there is a better name for it) for my flower girl. :)
She is about to burst from happiness!!
Aaaahhh!  Their looks at eachother just melt me…I love when a bride and groom are truly present in the moment.
Okay, how cute is Kristin?!  If she wasn’t on Robert’s arm I feel like she might have stopped to socialize. ;o)
I always recycle the flower girls flowers for the flower toss!
Grooms cake- SO awesome!  Go big blue!
Their first dance was full of whirls and twirls…and then the party started….Burning Las Veags was AMAZING!  I felt like I was at a concert- they rocked the house!
Kristin’s brothers are a HOOT!I thought this might be my favorite pic from their dancing at the end of the night and then I saw the one below this one…hilarious and nice catch Robert!
The groomsmen serenaded Kristin with Backstreet Boys I want it that way.
And here was an idea Kristin’s mom proposed and I thought it was brilliant.  Since Kristin and 4 of her b-maids were on the UK dance team, they played the UK fight song and busted out in this:  A firework send off- what an appropriate send-off for such an amazing wedding!
Kristin and Robert had our photobooth company there- everyone loved it!!!
Kristin & Robert we had a blast shooting your wedding!  It was an epic event that won’t be forgotten and most likely won’t be topped. :)  Thanks for letting us photograph the most important day of your lives!

Jessi | Fort Lauderdale Photographer

How do I even begin to describe my adorable friend Jessi?!  I’ll start with how we met- we met on Facebook. I know I know I know- but better on FB than in a bar, right?  About a year ago, she saw on my Facebook photography page post that my husband and I would be moving to Fort Lauderdale from Lexington.   We met up right when I moved down here and we just clicked- (would you expect anything less from 2 shutter bugs?)

Jessi is gorgeous, warm, genuine, funny, witty, real, fun, real fun, and a super talented photographer.  I’m sooooooooo lucky to call her a friend.

We went down to Hollywood’s Broadwalk, had lunch, snapped some pics, and had about 800 laughs.  You can find more of her work at J Photography.  Enjoy her gorgeous face!

The M Family | Cincinnati Newborn Photographer | Cincinnati Family Photographer

This in-home newborn session with this family was wonderful. The little girls were so polite and the house had an amazing calmness that one wouldn’t expect with 3 little girls running around and a new baby boy. This session includes my favorite newborn image- the one where Zach is cuddled up to his monkey.  Ahhh….it just melts me.

I was asked to come back to photograph Zachary for his 1 year milestone and took some more pictures of their adorable kids.  The M Family has a gorgeous home in Terrace Park so we were able to take their photos right at home.  I just LOVE photographing families in their home where all their family memories are being made.

Annabelle + TJ | Cincinnati Engagement Photographer

For the past year I have been ecstatic about Annabelle and TJ’s wedding.  I met these two love birds when I still lived in Cincinnati and they were planning a destination wedding in Naples, Florida.  As luck would have it, my husband and I were moving to Fort Lauderdale at the end of June- just a hop skip and a jump from Naples.  Their wedding is now about 6 weeks away and I couldn’t be anymore excited about kicking off the wedding season!  TJ and Annabelle have amazing chemistry that jumps off each image.  She is going to be absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to document this incredible day for them at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Florida!

Julian | Lexington Family Photographer

I hear it is snowing up in Lexington so I thought I would blog some adorable summer images from a little guy named Julian to send warm  thoughts your way.  We had our session at Shaker Village – definitely one of my favorite places to visit and shoot at in Lexington, KY.

This little guy was on the move move move! He is such a happy and independent little guy and he loved being able to run around while I shot. I know a lot of parents feel discouraged to get family pics done at this age because of how active they can be.  I have to say, if I was shooting in a studio, we wouldn’t have gotten any shots.  He was just too fast!  Luckily, so am I! ;o)

Sam + Ricky | Cincinnati Wedding Photography

Sam sings at a lot of weddings, so she sees them all the time and was determined to make hers unique. Mission accomplished! The wedding was at Weidenmann Hill Mansion, a mansion that sits on top of a hill and overlooks the city of Cincinnati.  It is such a unique venue for a small wedding.  The bridesmaids carried fans instead of flowers (and they needed them on our 100 degree & 90% humid day!), Ricky’s brother was in the wedding party but couldn’t come back from Iraq in time for the wedding so they had a cut-out of him for the pics (they are hilarious!). To add to the fun, they had their dog come for a few pics – seriously adorable! Their first dance was beautifully choreographed and entertaining. I just love when brides put a spin on their wedding to make it their own. To top things off after they exchanged their rings and said their vows, the whole wedding party broke out into dance! We got to see them again since 2 of Sam’s b-maid chose us to photograph their day!

Cutout of Ricky’s bro in his military BDUs.
Evidently, Sam was waiting to show Ricky her leg on their wedding day.  How old fashion of you, Sam! ;o)
